As the sun sets each evening across Nepal during the holy month of Ramadan, hundreds of fasting individuals gather quietly in streets, and community spaces waiting not just for food, but for dignity and compassion. Helping Heart Nepal has been distributing Iftar meals every single day throughout this holy month, reaching thousands of poor and underprivileged people who struggle to afford even a simple meal.
Ramadan is a time of reflection, generosity, and social responsibility. In a country where many daily wage earners and vulnerable families face financial hardship, this initiative has become a lifeline. Though the meals are simple, they carry deep spiritual meaning. In Islamic teachings, feeding a fasting person brings immense reward, and this effort reflects that spirit of mercy and unity.
The Prophet ? said:
“Whoever gives food for a fasting person to break his fast will have a reward like theirs, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest.” (Tirmidhi)
Volunteers can be seen quietly serving food with humility, while recipients express gratitude with soft smiles and prayers. The initiative has also strengthened social harmony by bringing together donors, volunteers, and communities regardless of background.
May Allah accept this humble effort and reward all donors and supporters abundantly. Ameen.
