HHN Awards Higher Education Scholarships to 40 Students Nationwide

Helping Heart Nepal has awarded higher education scholarships to 40 deserving students from across the country, supporting studies from diploma level to PhD and enabling students from financially challenged backgrounds to continue their academic journeys.

The recipients were selected through a transparent and merit-based process, based on recommendations from local governments, ensuring the support reaches students with genuine financial need. The initiative directly addresses student dropout risks and expands access to higher education in Nepal. Students from diverse colleges and universities nationwide were included, reflecting strong geographic and social inclusion. The scholarship handover ceremony was attended by educators, social activists, and community representatives, reinforcing transparency, accountability, and community ownership.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Areef Ansari, General Manager of Helping Heart Nepal emphasized that the program goes beyond financial assistance:

“This scholarship is a seed. Along with academic degrees, we encourage students to develop practical and professional skills. With the right skills, their future will be bright across sectors.”

Nepal continues to face challenges in advanced research opportunities and academic supervision, particularly at the master’s and doctoral levels, often forcing students to pursue higher studies abroad. By supporting students across technical, professional, and research pathways, Helping Heart Nepal contributes to strengthening national human capital and reducing brain drain.

. This year’s scholarship recipients represent the future of key fields such as public health, engineering, agriculture, management, social sciences, and research areas critical to Nepal’s sustainable development. The program prioritizes students from marginalized and underserved communities, including Dalit, Madhesi, Muslim, Janajati, and remote rural backgrounds, aligning with the National Education Policy 2076, the 16th Periodic Plan, and SDG 4 (Quality Education).

Reaffirming the organization’s long-term commitment, Md. Jiyauddin Khan, Chairman of Helping Heart Nepal, stated:

“We see this as the beginning. As these students grow and succeed, their achievements will inspire many more.”

Through this initiative, Helping Heart Nepal continues to champion equitable access to education, skill development, and inclusive national progress, reinforcing its belief that investing in education is essential to breaking intergenerational poverty and building a stronger Nepal.
